The European Union statistical system employs a chain-index formula when membership changes occur, enabling the inflation series to accurately reflect the current composition while ensuring consistency with earlier reports.
Eurostat will release the complete harmonised consumer-price data for August on Sept. 17, 2026. The subsequent flash estimate, covering September inflation, is set for Oct. 2. The harmonised index tracks variations in prices paid by households for consumer goods and services.
